Outdoor Layout
For anyone interested in Garden Railroading the
Big Sky Garden Railroad is a "must see" while in Southern
Alberta.
The 7000 foot landscaped garden boasts a 9 foot high mountain with many tunnels and bridges, a lake
and a mountain stream. There are actually 2 layouts in Big Sky, a European and a North American
layout. Big Sky has minimum 22 trains running on approximately 3500
feet of track, and many trains have digital sound.
Big Sky started in 2000. Each year brings new scenes and different layouts into the miniature world.
Thomas Play Area
Huge covered, "Thomas" play area. Lots of seating. Cold drinks available.
Stay as long as you like.
Change Rooms for Parents
Added in 2007!
We now have a convenient change rooms for parents with strollers. We have ample room to accomodate strollers,
with stroller parking too!
Wheel Chair Accessible
We are wheelchair accessbile and have ample seating for tired visitors.

Mural at Big Sky Outdoor Layout
The mural was first sketched out near Nanton of our Foothills of the Rocky Mountains in 2005. They were painted by
Joan, friends and family. After 4 days it was time to call in a talented artist, Connie Wilson. She worked
another 4 days to complete the inspired back drop for our garden railway.
